THE NEW PORT

Portland’s historic Eastern Waterfront District is the centerpiece of the city’s most extensive revitalization in recent decades. This “New Port” district encompasses galleries, artisan studios, restaurants, a public market and a maritime museum.

Adjacent to the pier, and serving both the Cat Ferry to Nova Scotia and cruise ships, is the Ocean Gateway Marine Passenger Terminal, scheduled for opening in Spring of ’08.  Also underway are numerous other projects including a new Marriot Hotel, parking garage and an office building.
